Not everyone enjoys playing an instrument, so a few individuals have decided to revolutionize their hobbies. They didn\’t look at preconceptions and did what they enjoy. There are certainly more of these individuals, but I have compiled just a few of the most interesting ones.

The behaviour of ants

I\’m sure you\’ve heard of people who breed iguanas or snakes, but few have heard of someone who breeds ants. It\’s a really interesting hobby that sees your ant colony grow right in your own home. All it really takes is very little – a queen ant (you can catch them outside in the summer), a test tube, water and almost any food. It may seem a little challenging at first, but once you get into that regular care, the colony will do nothing but make you happy.

“Caching”

A very popular hobby in the Czech Republic, but also in the world. It consists in taking a GPS navigation device and entering a coordinate that you can find on the internet or in a special app. There is a box waiting for you at the coordinates. You sign in (“log in”) and move on. Some boxes (“caches”) also contain various small items. If you want one, put another item in its place.

Repainting dolls

There is a nice lady in America who uses dolls that nobody wants anymore. We all know what today\’s dolls look like – huge painted eyes, too much make-up, inappropriate clothes, etc., so she decided to take all the paint and clothes off these dolls. She then repaints them (this time more naturally) and knits them clothes. You can now buy the dolls from her and support someone\’s creative work.

Collecting cigarette butts

One lady has a very special interest – she collects cigarette butts. But she doesn\’t do it just for fun. Because she is a scientist and interested in genetics and DNA, she finds out the sex and approximate appearance of an individual from the saliva she finds on the cigarette butt. She\’s combined her work and her free time beautifully.
